*Four Mediaeval Songs.* The chanson rustique was a type of French popular song that flourished particularly during the second half of the 15th century. The tunes were simple and attractive, and provided good opportunities for the many great contrapuntalists active at the time. May be sung a cappella or with instrumental accompaniment.
