Composer Timothy Morgan was born in Shrewsbury in 1980. He studied composition at Manchester University under Philip Grange, John Casken and Kevin Malone. A Small Suite was composed for John Turner. The composer writes as follows: 'This Suite started with Small Spices composed at Christmas 2004. I had a hazy image of The Three Wise Men (or maybe just an Arabian caravan) in mind, and now the Suite seems to have expanded into a hot and exotic desert journey.
The Suite uses bass, tenor and treble recorders.
