Its difficult first movement features a slow melody with very fast and complex ornamentation. The music is predominantly modal but departs from that with very humorously effective multiphonics. The second movement features a lovely Turkish-sounding melody, and the third has a lovely dynamism that is typical of much of Thorn's music.
