Da Pacem Domine

*Contemporary Recorder Quartet.* The Estonian composer, Arvo Part composed Da pacem Domine for a cappella four part choir in response to a commission from Jordi Savall for a concert in Barcelon based around the Da pacem Domine theme. The basis of the work is a Gregorian antiphon of the oth century, which has already inspired several composert to write musical settings over the past few centuries.

A translation of the text of the antiphon is, "Grant us, O Lord, peace in our times, for there is non other who fights for us but Thou, our God".
