As the name suggests Eight Duets is made up of 8 duets for Tenor and Bass.
Composer Lance Eccles says: 'There are not many duets for this particular combination, but there must be people who would welcome such a set. The titles are various and don’t reflect a common subject. Festival is to a large extent in a 3+3+2 quaver rhythm. In Among the stars the slower-moving tenor line is supported by a constantly-moving bass. Ballroom is in 6/8 and reflects the activity of the dancers. Feathers in the Air drift on little eddies, finally coming to rest. Frogs in the Rain jump and croak. Kangaroo depicts the fast bounding of the animal. Thermal Springs captures the bubbling of the water from the ground. Coronation is a stately march inspired by the crowning of Charles III'.
They are as follows:
Duet 1. Festival
Duet 2. Among the Stars
Duet 3. Ballroom
Duet 4. Feathers in the Air
Duet 5. Frogs in the Rain
Duet 6. Kangaroo
Duet 7. Thermal Springs
Duet 8. Coronation
