Katia Geha - Imploding Mango -SATB - OMP319
Both score and parts are well laid out and clear. It is an interesting and varied four minute work and it is easy to get a first idea at the composer's soundcloud page (soundcloud.com/katiageha). Before buying the music, it is worth knowing that there are some difficult rhythms ad there are several passages where the tenor is quite high and the very high) bass is in unison. Not impossible, but hard. The SoundCloud rendition is presented as a saxophone quartet and to me sounds better d I think it is easier to pay on saxes too. having said that, it's a good piece. It will challenge a very good quartet (especially the bass player) and audiences will find it intriguing and rather quirky.
