Albrecht Maurer works as a composer for various ensembles. He creates music from improvisation and intuition and works with the found material like a director - he discards, files, renews, compresses, reflects and in this process finds what should remain and makes it repeatable. As an improviser he does the same in milliseconds. He is a member of various ensembles, as conceptionist and leader, as partner or as player.  Here he works in the field of new chamber music, improvised music, jazz, as well as early music. Recently he has also been playing and creating transcultural music.
