Safari

In Safari, six recorder players go on a wild journey through the African savannah, exploring elements of traditional African music along the way. Featuring interesting rhythms, warm timbres and effects mimicing animal sounds, the five short pieces depict scenes from the African wilderness.

The composition Safari is divided into five sections which are played without a pause between each section (attacca): 

1. Sunrise on the African savannah

2. A flock of birds at the watering hole

3. Gazelles fleeing

4. A lion strolling at noon

5. The march of the elephant herd
