The parameters of metre, speed, note-values, melodic length and range for melodic recall are shown under each individual heading in the Grade-by-grade section. Other parameters, such as a range of cadences for identification, are defined in the syllabus rubrics. At all levels, major and minor keys will both be used.
In effect, there are seven types of test. Not all of these are included at every level.
