Description

This *Comprehensive Recorder Method* was written by Andrew Charlton (1928-1997) who was a professor of music at California State University for many years. Andrew~~~~~s teaching interests included music history, composition, instrumental performance and even jazz arranging. He served several terms as the musical director of the Las Angeles Recorder Society. Andrew played several wind instruments, both early and modern, extremely well. Some of his favourite music to play came from the Renaissance, baroque and jazz - accordingly, he was a particularly talented improviser.

This is a comprehensive tutor book and covers topics such as technique and articulation studies, interval studies, studies and duets based on the works of JS Bach and includes some of Andrew~~~~~s own compositions.

Initially published by The Curators of the University of Missouri in 1981, the second print run is through Peacock Press in Hebden Bridge, UK.
