  1. High road, low road: This movement is based on the well-known Scots song 'Loch Lomond' - "O ye take the high road, and I'll take the low road, and I'll be in Scotland afore ye"
  2. Lament: This is based loosely on the sad Scots song 'Fine flowers in the valley'
  3. Ceilidh Time: Originally a social gathering to share songs and poetry, a Scottish ceilidh ("kay-lee") is now usually an occasion for dancing, with well-known tunes, three of which are woven into this movement.
