The composer Sören Sieg says that in 2013 Elisabeth Richers-Byrne from Dublin had asked him to write a duet for her pupils. He very quickly finished 20 pieces producing a great variety from easy to difficult, fast to slow and from joyful to sad and high flutes to low flutes. They all shared a style he called African. The musical material only consists of the seven tones of the major scale but the rhythm and metrics are quite complex at the same time. These 20 African duets in ascending difficulty take the listener on a rich journey.
